Jose Ramon Reyes

Jose (Pepe) Ramon Reyes, age 85, of Charlotte, NC; passed away on May 4th, 2015. He was born July 17, 1929 in Matanzas, Cuba. Pepe was an avid sportsman throughout his life, playing basketball, baseball, furthermore, softball in his later years. He would never miss a great boxing match! Sugar Ray Leonard was his favorite boxer throughout the years. Pepe loved singing, which He did very well, being part of a radio show in his youth and winning talent competitions many times. As a professional, he worked as a Marketing Manager for many years with companies such as Schering-Plough, Johnson and Johnson, American Cyanamid and Pierre Cardin; traveling extensively throughout Europe, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosario (Chari); children, son Manolo and wife Isabel Reyes of Port St. Lucie, FL, son Anolio and wife Stacy Reyes of Charlotte, NC, daughter Alina Reyes of West New York, NJ, daughter-in-law Olga Zwirn and husband Dan of Clover, SC; eight grandchildren, Sherisse, Susana, Gabriel, Carol, Breeana, Jose, Alexandra and Isabel; brother Rafael (Tuto) Reyes and sisters Ada Fernandez and Reina Reyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Reyes and Rosaura Reyes, and brothers Carol Reyes and Danilo Reyes. A Celebration of Life service for Jose will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Metropolitan Community Church located at 1825 Eastway Dr Charlotte, NC 28205. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Novant Health Hospice"s general fund (RHGF), P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28233. Tribute Cremation Society is serving the Reyes family.
