Marianne W. Lieberman

Marianne W. Lieberman was born on January 22, 1927, in Vienna, Austria and died May 11, 2021 in her home in Charlotte, NC with her son and daughter by her side. Her husband of 60 years, Gerald Lieberman, preceded her in death in 2011. Prior to that they were avid ballroom dancers for most of their marriage and loved to travel. Marianne is survived by her son Larry (his wife MJ and grandchildren Alex and Kennedy), and her daughter Miriam (and grandson Jesse with wife Katy and granddaughter Stacey). Marianne was an accomplished artist, graphic designer, and author. Her memoir "Aftershocks" tells her life story through her art. She came to this country as a Holocaust refugee and became a proud American Citizen, standing up for the ERA, women's reproductive rights, civil rights and democratic principles of equality and environmentalism. In lieu of flowers please donate money to: Planned Parenthood, NARAL, the NAACP, the ACLU, or the Sierra Club. There will be a private Memorial service for family and friends.
