Wanda Sue Southern Bell

Wanda Sue Southern Bell, of Charlotte, died November 7, 2013 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center surrounded by her three children. Born September 27, 1946 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Eugene and Beatrice Smith Southern. Sue was one of 6 children. Sue was a retired Postal Carrier. First and foremost, she was a loving, supportive mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her other passions were nature, gardening, music and crafts. She took pride in treating people equally and instilled these values in her children. She is survived by her three children, Stephanie Brenner and husband, Peter, Don Bell, Jr., and Dana Beck and husband, Jason; one sister, Diana Swinson; four brothers, Vernon Soutrhern, Darrell Southern, Wayne Southern and Michael Southern; four grandchildren, Nicholas Brenner, Brenden Beck, Crisenda Beck and Stephen Beck; and her step-mother, Joyce Southern. Although cancer affects all ages, Sue always felt that cancer in children "was not fair".
