Roberta "Robbie" McMurray
October 13th, 1939 - June 8th, 2024
Roberta “Robbie” McMurray, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on October 13, 1939, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Everell and Lawrence “Bill” Boyle. She was the second of six children. She lived in many cities throughout her adult life. She was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona since 2001.
She was a 1957 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha Wisconsin and the Central Connecticut State University with a degree in education. She married Thomas J. McMurray, August 29, 1959, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She worked as a business education teacher and substitute teacher at Simsbury High School and Granby High School.
Robbie was very social and generous with her time. Her immediate and extended family were her greatest passions in life. She loved spending time taking care of her grandkids and interacting with kids of all ages. She was also an avid reader, always had a library book or a paper around to read. She spent most of her time supporting her family through their everyday lives as well as through the more difficult times and always celebrating their successes. Robbie always had the ability to make anyone smile.
Robbie is predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. McMurray, her parents Lawrence and Everill Boyle, her sisters Patricia Gallup and Laurel Scola, her nephew Todd Bredek, and her nieces Kari Aker and Deanna Boyle. She is survived by her four children, Tom McMurray (Kaye), Scott McMurray, Susan McMurray (William), and Jennifer McMurray (Kevin), her grandchildren, Kieran McMurray, Ryan and Daniel Rathman, her step granddaughter Brianna Larson, her sister, Gail Bredek, her brothers, Donald and Blair Boyle, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to the chapel at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, 4300 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, Wisconsin, at 11:00 am on June 29, 2024, to reminisce and honor the life of Robbie McMurray. Luncheon afterward at the Italian American Club on 52nd in Kenosha.
