William E Teasdale
December 30th, 1928 - November 25th, 2015
William Edward Teasdale, 86, of Fort Mill, SC died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Hospice and Community Care House in Rock Hill, SC. He was born December 30, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late William and Mary Craig Teasdale. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1949. He worked as a police officer in Miami Beach and Hialeah, FL. He was also both a purchasing manager and contract coordinator in the hospital industry for several years. After moving to South Carolina, Bill and his wife Harriet worked together in the imprinted sportswear industry for 17 years, owning several retail stores. He volunteered for the American Red Cross in Rock Hill and worked for the Baxter YMCA. Bill was active in community theatre in Rock Hill, having performed in numerous plays over the years including Shenandoah, Oliver! and Little Shop of Horrors. In addition, he became a certified Master Gardener. Most recently he was a greeter at Temple Beth El, welcoming congregants and visitors with a smile. He loved people, and this was one way of giving back to the community. Bill is survived by his loving wife Harriet, with whom he would have been married for 40 years on November 27, 2015. He is also survived by his daughter, Lori Vogel Lamb; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, and Rebecca; a son, Edward R. Teasdale; sister-in-law, Ruth Easley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ralph and Shelley Zemel; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 2 sisters, Sheila and Virginia. A service to celebrate Bill"s life will be held at 3:30 pm, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Temple Beth El. A reception will follow the service. Burial will be private at the Hebrew Cemetery.
