Joseph Anthony Winguay

Joseph Anthony Winguay , age 57 of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17th, 1958 in New York to Jack Winguay and Joan Fortner Damm. He was a CBA graduate in Syracuse, NY where he was an outstanding athlete and a star in track and football. He also attended Slippery Rock University Of PA. He was an avid golfer, New York Yankee fan extraordinaire and more importantly had a deep unconditional love for his family and friends. He enjoyed making people laugh. He began his career in aviation with USAirways for many years before opening his own construction company in Charlotte. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Paris Jai Winguay of Syracuse, NY; Jasmine Winguay of Charlotte. Sisters, Joy Mackool ( Jack ) and Nicole, brothers, Ricky Renzi ( Lori ) and Jeffrey Winguay, his parents, Jack Winguay and Joan Damm (Doug). Also surviving are his longtime companion, Robin Gaither, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by a son, Joseph John "JJ" Winguay, nephews Corey Winguay and Joseph Mackool, grandparents Joseph and Betty Winguay, Loran and Helen Fortner. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
