Ann Cotter Hoover

Ann Cotter Hoover, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Levine-Dickson Hospice House- Southminster. She was born June 9, 1919 in Augusta, GA, a daughter of the late Leo Francis Cotter and Anna Harms Cotter. Mrs. Hoover was the wife of the late John Preston Hoover who preceded her in death in 1999. Ann had been a resident of Charlotte since 1944. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and retired after 30 years with the Diocese of Charlotte as Secretary of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was a very outgoing and loving person, well loved by family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the Mass in the church narthex. Mrs. Hoover is survived by her loving daughters, Claire Hoover Morrison and Mary Hoover, of Charlotte; sons, Father John Hoover and Leo Hoover and wife, Carol, of Charlotte; 6 grandchildren, Shelley (Robert), Chris (Amber), Ray (Amy), Sarah (Andrew), and Michael and Anna; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ann Hoover Self and Joan Hoover Ham and her husband, Dub Ham, and son in law, Phil Morrison.
