Barbara Lynn Dorricott

Barbara Lynn Dorricott, 70, of Charlotte, NC passed away Monday, January 15th 2018. She was born on February 25, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA. Barbara graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1966. Barbara's greatest gift was her creative and artistic ability. She had very sharp wit and could entertain her friends and family nonstop. She loved her many pets but her favorite was her longtime companion, a Maltese named Boomer. She lived in Pittsburg, PA until 2003 when she moved to Charlotte to be with her sister Janice and her husband Vernon. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; Bill and Rose Dorricott and survived by her sister Janice Mai and her husband Vernon Mai. Visitation will held on Friday, January 19th 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at J.B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 N Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, January 20th, at 11:00 AM at Sardis Presbyterian Church, 6100 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC with Reverend Jane B. Fobel officiating. The family will host a reception following the service in the Education Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sardis Gift Trust, 6100 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270 and Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care, 13001 Idlewild Rd, Matthews, NC 28105. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living on Providence Road for their love and care and Novant Hospice Nurses, Chaplin, volunteer visitors and aid who cared so graciously for her in her last days.
