Kay Frances O'Briant Pressley

After a long and full life Kay Frances O'Briant Pressley, 85 years old, died peacefully in her home on Friday, February 10, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1937 in Wake County North Carolina to Thomas Solomon O'Briant and Katie Lee Stainback. Kay is survived by her younger brother Buck Jones O'Briant and her oldest daughter Karma Pressley Crisco. She is preceded in death by her older brother Thomas Lee O'Briant Sr., and her 2 daughters Katrina Lynette Pressley and Kristi Pressley Crates. Kay earned a bachelors degree in business from Mars Hill in 1957 and was still in close contact with her dear friends, Phyllis Mills, Betty Troutman and Retta Rice. She married Bobby Jack Pressley October 23, 1960 and they were married until his passing in 2016. He literally "showed her the world" as they traveled extensively around the globe during their 56 years together. Additionally, they raised 3 beautiful daughters Karma, Katrina and Kristi, all while growing their real estate business together in Charlotte. She and Bob also has a granddaughter Kalista Lynn Pressley who they loved dearly. Known to some as "Birdie" Kay has been described as generous, strong (despite her small frame), dignified, happy and kind with an sharp attention to detail and order. Her kindness and strength are attributed to her life long devotion to Jesus Christ and her faith in Him. Kay was a devoted Christian and God's love poured out of her to others daily. Kay was also a well loved friend and member of her community at Brightmore. If you would like to pay your respects, the family has planned a visitation and service at 11am and Noon respectively at JB Tallent Funeral Home in Charlotte. A graveside ceremony will follow at 1pm.
