April 21st, 1919 - May 21st, 2014
Thomas Hall Johnson " Grump" Mr. Johnson, 95, of Charlotte, NC passed away early Wednesday morning May 21, 2014. He was born April 21, 1919 in Milledgeville, GA, Son of the late Ada Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte for over 60 years. He also proudly served in the US Army during WWII. In his free time Grumps enjoyed baseball and could be found most days on a ball field somewhere throwing batting practice or handing out chewing gum. He is survived by his daughter Katherine J. Jones, of Charlotte and two grandchildren, Katherine Herckner and Mark Jones, both of Charlotte. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of J.B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 Sharon Amity Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC, 29605. 5/28/2014 03:00 PM Memorial J.B.
