Tribute & Tallent Funeral and Cremations
Ronald Eugene Beach
February 22nd, 1943 - August 30th, 2015
Ronald "Ronnie" Eugene Beach, age 72, passed away peacefully at Queen City Assisted Living in Charlotte on Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a difficult illness. He was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta on February 22, 1943 to Virginia Ham Beach and Robert Eugene Beach. He was formerly married to Rebecca Jane Lowe, but maintained friendship until her passing several years ago. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Waller, and enjoyed telling stories of his military experiences to his grandchildren. For many years he worked as a technician with a national security alarm company. Prior to that, he worked in a family-operated bakery. He enjoyed studying animals, nature, and people, spending many years photographing his favorite subjects. For decades his home was the center of activity, picnics and fun, and he enjoyed boating on the Catawba River. He enjoyed all kinds of music and dancing, especially the "Carolina Shag," and found great peace quietly listening to Native flute music. He had a life-long love of riding motorcycles and was a member of the Charlotte Chapter of the Concerned Bikers Association, participating in charitable fund raising events. He is preceded in death by his father Robert and an infant grandson. He is survived by his mother Virginia Beach of Charlotte, sister Cheryl Greenhill and husband Rick of Charlotte, son Ron Beach and wife Sylvia of Moravian Falls, daughter Cheryl Darlene "Lea" McGrady of North Wilkesboro, three grandchildren and two nieces. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday September 5 at 2:00PM at JB Tallent Funeral Service in Charlotte, with a casual receiving of friends to follow, serving light refreshments for a time of fellowship per his prior request. Family has requested no flowers, but to send memorials to the charitable organization Toys For Tots sponsored by the U.S Marine Corps Reserve. 9/5/2015 02:00 PM Celebration of Life J.B.
