Gary Carson Thompson

Gary C. Thompson, 75, was called home by the Lord on 08/06/2023 peacefully at his residence. He was born and raised in Charlotte, NC on 03/23/1948 to the late Harry and Lois Thompson.He owned and operated an electrical company (G.T. Electrical) until he retired. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 3 O/S BARS, and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16).He is survived by his wife Judy Thompson, daughter Hannah (Kalay Jones), son Randy Thompson, step children Julie and Ralph Cook, sisters Jane (Bill Dixon), and Lynda Thompson, special sister in laws Brenda and Linda. He also leaves behind many grandkids and great-grandkids that he loved dearly. He is proceeded in death by his parents Harry and Lois Thompson, sons Marty and Chuck Thompson, step-daughter Rhonda Besse, brother Ray Lanier, sisters Pat Greene, Judy Burnette and Marie Hancock, and granddaughter Allison Wolfe.A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm on 08/11/2023 at Tribute and Tallent Funeral Home in Charlotte, NC. Reverend Danny Lanier will Officiate.
