Richard Gordy Ruffin

Richard G. Ruffin, age 65, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on January 16, 1958, in Savannah, Georgia. Rick was the child of Mr. Homer C. Ruffin Jr. and Mrs. Lois Alberta Ruffin who precede him in death.He was an alumnus of Myers Park High School in Charlotte and spent the majority of his professional life in sales. His most recent role was in sales engineering, specializing in the cutting tool sector of the automotive industry. Rick had a deep passion for outdoor activities; hunting, fishing, boating, shrimping and crabbing. Whether it was Lake Norman or the low country of South Carolina and South Georgia, his true happiness was found on the water.Survived by his son, Michael Shane Ruffin, of Charlotte, he is also survived by his sister Patricia Ruffin Wyatt of Charlotte and his sister Pamela Young of Murells Inlet, South Carolina. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends regarded as family.A celebration of Rick's life, reserved for family and close friends, will take place on Tybee Island, Georgia, during the late fall. At this time, no formal service will be scheduled
