ELIZABETH †œANNE†� VOLZKE, 72, passed away January 5, 2012, after a long illness. She was born in El Paso, TX on October 28, 1939 to Allen and Sarah Peers who preceded her in death. She graduated from Austin High School in El Paso and moved to Denver, CO later where she worked as an assistant in such securities firms as Lehman Brothers, Bosworth Sullivan and First Jefferson Securities. Later she was a legal secretary at Pendleton and Sabian in Denver. In her final ten years of her career, she was the office manager for the Bancroft Clover Water District. She was married to Roy Volzke and a major part of their lives was the opportunity to do extensive traveling throughout the world. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, was very secure in her faith and knew where she was going after this life. She was a great mother and homemaker, an excellent seamstress, an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing bridge in addition to being an avid Bronco fan. She is survived by her husband, Roy Volzke, as well as her only sister, Mary Ellen Kirby (Don), her three children, Michele, Bill (Jane) and John and three grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by four step-children, Lisa, Doran (Carolyn), Diane (Craig) and Kevin (Suzanne) and eight step-grandchildren. A Memorial Service is being held on Friday, January 13th, at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado with a lunch and celebration of her life to follow. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, the Bethlehem Lutheran School (scholarship fund), Bethlehem Lutheran Church (for their expansion project) or the charity of your choice.
