John Stephen Burgess

John Stephen Burgess, Charlotte native, West Charlotte High alumnus, Eagle Scout, Appalachian State graduate, and serious Rock and Roller has left the stage. Steve was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Burgess (Nani & Papa), and Dr. & Mrs. Arthur Cacella (Grandmommy & Granddaddy), and his Uncles Tom Burgess, and Art Cacella, Jr. Steve is survived by his parents, John Charles & Mikki Cacella Burgess, brothers, John Jr. (Christine), and Jeremy Travis Burgess, Aunts, Linda Cacella Jones (Steven), Alicia Cacella Hathcock (Gary), Uncle Barry Cacella (Karen), Cousins, Dawn Cacella Faurot (Shane) and Debbie Cacella Kapuscinski (Steve), Amanda and Steven Jones, Nicholas and Samantha Cacella, and 3 much loved nieces, as well as numerous friends. Steve’s love of music was sustained by his participation in Jr. and Sr. high school bands, various club groups in college and his continued playing, as a hobby, at the beginning and during his work career. Steve was part of the John Boy and Billy team at WRFX-FM 99.7 Charlotte as the syndication of the show began and was with the Network for several years. Steve was a people person, who never met a stranger, and loved sales. At the time of his death he was employed by Charter Communication/Spectrum. A celebration of his life is being held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 2:00 pm at Tribute & Tallent, 1937 N. Sharon Amity Road, 28205, where friends may share their love and memories.
