Vicki Jo Myers Thomson passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, surrounded by family and bathed in love. Vicki was born on October 9, 1945 in Macomb, Illinois. Her sister Sandra was born thirteen months later. Vicki and Sandi were very close and lived together or near one another for most of their lives.

Vicki graduated from Hickman High School and attended University of Missouri in Columbia MO, studying art. She worked in a variety of positions throughout her life, starting with Avis Rent-A-Car, where she met her future husband John Thomson. They were married in 1966 (divorced in 1980.) She went on to work for various phone companies, becoming the first female tower climber in Broken Arrow, OK. Later she worked in a variety of capacities for the Tulsa County Bar Association.

Vicki had a talent for drawing. One of her pieces, a hand holding a rose (in ink), is still in the family and cherished. She was smart and sensitive and kind. Her keen sense of humor buoyed the family through good times and bad. As the eldest of her family, Vicki was the one her Mother and Daddy relied upon in emergencies and times of sadness. She was a faithful daughter and sister, mother and granny. Vicki was devoted to her family and gleefully told them she loved them “gobs and gobs.” One thing Vicki didn’t like much was “a fuss.” Therefore, at her request, there will be no service.

Vicki is survived by her daughters Deanna Butler (Eric) and Debbi Geren (Tim); grandchildren Jessica Nielson (Steven), Tristen Geren (Kara), Allison Butler (Lance), Meredith Butler (Will), Taylor Geren (Gessika), and Lydia Butler; great-grandchildren London Epley, Sidney Epley, Oliver Nielson, Theodore Nielson, and Sebastian Nielson; sister Cindy Myers (Lydia); nephew Brian Hatton (Barbara); niece Kerri Finnell (Hossam), and former husband John Thomson (Gail). She was predeceased by her parents George and Betty Jo Myers; sister Sandra Finnell, and nephew Jeffrey Hatton.

Vicki is deeply missed by many. She lives on in the spirits of her loved ones.
