Lewis "Steve" Gay
August 23rd, 1956 - March 27th, 2024
LEWIS “STEVE” GAY of Jefferson died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 23, 1956 in Statesboro, Georgia the son of the late Benjamin Sr. and Christine (Hendrix) Gay. On August 7, 2006 he married Elizabeth (Bonnie) Eisberner; she preceded him in death on March 16, 2020. Steve owned and operated Steve’s Mobile Maintenance repairing farm equipment and trucks for many customers in the area. There wasn’t anything he wasn’t afraid to attempt to repair. He enjoying going to tractor pulls, country and gospel music, and more recently watching cooking shows and old movies on television. He was a member of the International Harvester Collectors Club, Wisconsin Chapter #4. He is survived by his faithful Bassett Hound, Cindy, along with his children, Jody Gay, Steven (Ashley Archer) Gay, Christina Amanda Gay of Georgia and Ashley Gay of Florida; grandchildren Chancie Archer, Casen Gay, Ally Gay, Jason Gay, Zache Rowe, Alyssa Allen, Jayden Allen, Rylan Palmer, Madison Palmer and Christian Myers; brothers Harry (Christine) Gay, Ben (Debbie) Gay and sister Latrelle Gay Rocker along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by a stepdaughter, Anita (Dan) Pendleton, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. The family would like to thank his special friends Nancy, John, Sarah, Jim and Vickie for everything they have done for Steve. Memorials may be directed to Rainbow Hospice or the charity of one’s choice. Per his request, there will be no funeral. There will be a celebration of his life on April 7th from 1-4 at Harder’s Bar, 202 S. Center Ave. in Jefferson for family and friends to share stories of Steve.
