Birdice May Riedl
August 27th, 1936 - August 12th, 2015
BIRDICE M. RIEDL, age 78, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday August 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 27, 1936 in Waterloo, daughter of the late Herbert and Mabel (Schultz) Dobberstein. She married Stanley "Hap" Riedl on May 25, 1957 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson; he preceded her in death on August 2, 2010. Birdice had worked at the Green's Restaurant and Malt Shop, and at Laddish Malt Co. and also at the Novelty Bakke Shoppe, but most of all she was a Homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and doing embroidery. She was active in her Bridge Club and Card Club. Mom also enjoyed traveling with dad and their friends. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by her family; Daughters Donna (Michael) Splittgerber of Jefferson, Nancy (Tom) Loehr of Mt. Calvary. Sons Peter (Linda Jilek) Riedl of Jefferson, Paul Riedl of Fort Atkinson, David (Katie) Riedl of Waupaca. 12 grandchildren, Jesse (Heidi) Riedl, Melanie (Nick) Brock, Tanner Riedl, Alissa Riedl, Justin Riedl, Michael Splittgerber, Jessica Splittgerber, Jacqueline Splittgerber, Brandon Riedl, Emily Loehr, Andrew Loehr, Julianna Loehr. And 5 great grandchildren Cole Riedl, Wyatt Riedl, Caleb Schultz, Julienn Riedl, Emersyn Brock. Brother and sister in laws; Robert (Geraldine) Brunner of Jefferson, and Lyle (Carol) Riedl of Jefferson. She is also preceded in death by her brother and sister in law; Herbert (Ruth) Dobberstein, And daughter in law Julie Riedl and other relatives. Visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 18, 2015. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow the Mass in the Parish cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial may be given in Birdice's memory to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice, or to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
