Germaine C Schroedl
September 26th, 1927 - June 10th, 2016
GERMAINE C. SCHROEDL age 88 of Jefferson died peacefully on June 10, 2016 at Meadowmere Assisted Living in Madison Germaine was born in Helenville, Wisconsin to Robert and Anna Rueth on September 26, 1927. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic Grade School and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1945. Germaine went on to work in bookkeeping for Braun's Lumber Company in Jefferson. Later she worked as a Nurse's Aide at Countryside Nursing home and St. Coletta School in Jefferson. On September 4, 1948 she married Donald Schroedl at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and they raised 5 children. Don preceded her in death on March 25, 2002. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parishes. Germaine loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to others. She truly loved helping people and did it like few others. Her life was simple in a contemporary sense. She was born of a different time when the gift of self, meant something very concrete. She cherished her time living in Minocqua with Don. To say that she will be deeply missed is a most profound understatement. She is survived by her children, daughters; Rebecca "Becky" Schroedl of LaCrosse, Cindy (Dennis) Simmons of Madison, Brenda (Robert "Todd") Harwick of Vista CA, Sons; Randall (Claudia) Schroedl of Durand IL, Brian (Cindy) Schroedl of Columbus. 7 grandchildren Andrew (Maria) Schroedl, Elizabeth Schroedl, Andrea (Chris) Miller, William Simmons, Samantha Rebholz-Hertz, Emily Schroedl, Katherine Schroedl. 2 great grandchildren; Ava and Austin Miller. Sister Norma Elgas and Brother Harold Rueth of Jefferson. She is further preceded in death by her brothers Cyril (Adeline) Rueth, Irvin (Delores) Rueth In-laws; Cyril Elgas, Mary Miller/Hartman/Mayne, Betty (Carl) Wedl, Grace (John) Roethle, Nancy (Jerome) Wedl, Eugene (Jean) Schroedl. We would like to thank her Meadowmere "family" for their constant support, encouragement, and love. We would also like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their help and support to make Mom's last days comfortable. The help and support of both groups is deeply appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Donald Williams for his many of years of care and friendship. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday June 16, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary will be recited just prior to the time of the Mass.
