LYLE D. PUNZEL age 90 of Jefferson passed away at his home surrounded by his family Saturday November 5, 2016. He was born on December 23, 1925 in Watertown to Emil and Marie (Maahs) Punzel. Lyle married Joyce Schlesner on July 26, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. Early in his career he farmed and hauled peas for the Lake Mills Canning Co. and hauled milk for the Hubbleton Cheese Factory. Lyle and his wife Joyce owned the Gambles Hardware store in Jefferson which later became Punzel Hardware for 49 ½ years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson and served as a school board member for St. John's Lutheran School. He was a member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club and the Grelton Fly Wheelers. In 1980 Lyle was one of the founding members of the Jefferson Collectible Car Club. He was a former member of the International Model T Ford Club and the Lake Mills Square Dancing Club. Lyle enjoyed dancing, antique cars and tractors especially Allis Chalmers and Silver King. He will be deeply missed by his family; Wife Joyce Punzel of Jefferson; Son Jeffrey (Antoinette) Punzel of Fort Atkinson, Bonnie (Michael) Wiskowski of Pewaukee and Marcie (Joseph) Wright of Custer. Grandchildren; A.J. (Rosetta) Wright, Carrissa Wright, Alexa Wiskowski, Megan and Matthew Punzel. Step grandchildren Ginger Pasch and Bradley Wiskowski. Step great grandchild Michael T. Pasch. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Lee Punzel and step grandchild Steven Wiskowski. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 12, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Matthew Krenke officiating, burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Lyle's name may do so to Lakeside Lutheran High School, St. John's Lutheran Church Jefferson, Rainbow Hospice, or to St. Coletta's Golden Options.
