STANLEY C. "HAP" RIEDL age 81 of Jefferson passed away on Monday August 2, 2010 at his home with his family at his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1929 in Helenville, son of the late Lothar and Elizabeth (Richter) Riedl. He married Birdice M. Dobberstein on May 25, 1957 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Stanley served in the United States Air Force, and was employed at Schweiger Industries. He was also employed at Carnation/Nestles and retired January 1, 1994 after 41 years of service. He was an avid train collector, wood worker, and toy maker. He enjoyed making wine and was a general "fix it man" for many people. He enjoyed his grandchildren and attending all the sporting events in which they participated. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years; Birdice M. Riedl of Jefferson Daughters; Donna M. (Mike) Splittgerber of Jefferson, Nancy E. (Tom) Loehr of Mt. Calvary Sons; Peter H. (Linda) Riedl of Jefferson, Paul A. Riedl of Fort Atkinson, David S. (Katie) Riedl of Waupaca. 12 Grandchildren; Jesse (Heidi) Riedl, Melanie (Nick) Brock, Tanner Riedl, Alissa Riedl, Justin Riedl, Michael Splittgerber, Jessica Splittgerber, Jacqueline Splittgerber, Brandon Riedl, Emily Loehr, Andrew Loehr, Julianna Loehr. 4 great-grandchildren; Cole Riedl, Wyatt Riedl, Caleb Schultz, Julienn Riedl. Sister; Geraldine (Robert) Brunner of Jefferson, Brother; Lyle (Carol) Riedl of Jefferson Other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law; Julie Riedl, brother; Lothar "Speed" Riedl, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday August 6, 2010 at St. Lawrence Catholic church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. A burial with Military honors will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial be given in Stanley's honor to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice, UW Cancer Center in Johnson Creek, St. Lawrence Catholic church, or to a charity of the donors choice.
