Francis "Stub" Wayne Acketz
May 17th, 1924 - November 26th, 2010
FRANCIS W. "STUB" ACKETZ age 86 of Jefferson passed away on November 26, 2010 at Alden Estates of Countryside. He was born on May 17, 1924 in Richland County, son of the late George and Amelia (Gassen) Acketz. He married Eunice Cummings in 1946 at Gaysmills, Wisconsin. "Stub" served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3589 Endl-Gruennert, and the American Legion Post 164 Reinhardt-Windl. Stub was very active in the community volunteering for many organizations. He is survived by his wife Eunice, daughters; Linda (Nubby) Kiesling, Mary (Ed) Grayden, Amy (David) Sullivan, sons; Don (Mary) Acketz, Tony (Stacy) Acketz. Grandchildren; Mark, Christopher, Alissa, James, Daniel, Tabitha, Tanner, and great-grandchildren; Imani, Indaya, Liam, Amelia Sister; Marcella Hoxie, and Brother; George (Nona) Acketz, sister-in-laws, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. He is also preceded in death by his sisters; Susan, Helen, Gladys, and Jean. Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday December 4, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, private family burial will be at a later date. Military Honors will follow the Mass at the Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson and then again on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00a.m. There will also be a Prayer Service on Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Donations in Stubs memory may be given to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice Foundation, Tomorrow's Hope or to St. John the Baptist Catholic church, % of Don Acketz N4647 Prairie Rose Road, Cambridge, WI 53523 For on line condolences see www.schneidermichaelisfuneralhome.com/
