July 1st, 1941 - December 4th, 2010
MARY A. HANSON age 69 of Jefferson passed away on Saturday December 4, 2010 at Alden Estates of Countryside. She was born on July 1, 1941 in Watertown, daughter of the late Alfred and Gertrude (Wilson) Mewis. She married Duane Hanson on November 28, 1959. Mary was employed by the Jefferson School District as an Elementary School Teacher, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed bowling and she was an avid sports fan especially enjoying cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Bucks'. She is survived by her daughter Julie (Richard) Czudec of Menomonie Falls, Son; Brian (Julia) Hanson of Johnson Creek, Four grandchildren; Aaron (Angel Gunsolus) Brandt, Kelly Hanson, Emily Czudec, Brett Czudec. 4 great-grandchildren: Dominic, Kaden, Alex, and Gracie Two brothers; Tom (Margo) Mewis of Hartland, David Mewis of Troy MO Her former husband Duane of Fort Atkinson. She is preceded in death by her twin brother; William Mewis. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday December 11, 2010 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating, burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial may be directed to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church Jefferson. Family would like to thank Alden Estates of Countryside, Special thank you to Dr. Frontiera and Dr. Sanyl for the wonderful care they gave to Mary.
