Beers and Story - Belchertown
George W. Rivest
September 3rd, 1940 - June 16th, 2024
George W. Rivest, 83, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2024, in Springfield, MA. Born on September 3, 1940, in Chicopee, MA, George lived a full and dedicated life, cherished deeply by his family and friends.
George was a devoted husband to the late Jeannette (Dostie) Rivest, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Their union brought forth a loving family who survives him: his daughter Diane Micheli and her husband Ken, and his son Dean Rivest and his wife Becki. George was also a proud Pepe to Gabrielle, Alan, Katarina, Nicholas, and Jacob, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his loving sister, Linda Plasse and was predeceased by his brother, Norman Rivest.
Professionally, George committed his career to Universal Products, where he served diligently as a machine operator. Beyond his professional life, George found great pleasure in his hobbies. He was an avid bowler and hunter, enjoying the camaraderie and solace these activities afforded him. George's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Belchertown with a private burial. Please meet directly at the church.
