In Loving Memory
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Irene Ortiz, born January 6, 1940 to the late Manuel and Sophie Casarez. Irene peacefully passed away in her sleep at the age of 84, on June 7,2024 in Salinas Ca. She graduated from Salinas High School, Class of 1957, and has been a lifelong Salinas Ca resident. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leonard Ortiz of Salinas Ca, Her 3 children Kathy, Kimberly(Gary), Kristopher (Esther) as well as her 9 grandchildren, Stephenni, Jr, Javier, Kassandra, Kristopher, Klarissa, Brianna, Savanna and Ashley, and her 8 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Bella, Taylor, Viviana, Aiden, Amari and baby Hunter, baby Kinsley. And her sibilings, Stella and Michael Casarez. Irene would always spend her time in her garden taking care of her plants and flowers, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she had a love for going to San Francisco Giants baseball games she was able to see two San Francisco Giants World Series parades that she truly enjoyed! She always enjoyed and loved painting and her love for playing bingo and going to the casinos was truly something special for her. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends, we will all look forward to being reunited with her and seeing her happy, joyful self! She will forever live in our hearts and memories will live on in all of us. We love her all.
Services will take place for Irene on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Garden of Memories Memorial Park beginning at 10am. There is a reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus, 270 Rianda St., Salinas, Ca.

Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
