Patrick A. Pless

Patrick A Pless - Husband, Father, Uncle, Papa. Age 71 passed away June 10, 2024. Born in Atlanta, GA, raised between Dallas, TX and Chicago, IL. Patrick graduated from Evanston Township HS and enlisted in the US Navy in 1972 retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1993 after 21 years of service in the Navy Submarine force, successfully surfacing one time more than he dove. 

Patrick married Peggy (Ellis) Pless in October 1974, together they have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and a puppy named Snowball. Together, Patrick and Peggy settled in Kankakee, IL and then Herscher, IL.

Following Patrick’s retirement from the Navy; Patrick and Peggy moved to Dunedin, FL in 2011 where he thoroughly enjoyed sailing, building his flotilla, and spending time with friends and family. Among Patrick’s joys in life were going out for breakfast, taxiing his children and grandchildren, taking care of his pool, spoiling his dog, and many other activities that made for full days. 

Patrick is survived by his wife, Peggy Pless, son, Steven (Carla) Pless; daughters, Christine (Matthew) Savage, Kara (Tyrone) Stude, Jordan Pless; Brother, Michael (Josie) Pless, Sister-in-law, Anne Pless; 8 grand-children, Sommer Savage, Paige Savage, Aleksandra Savage, Teagan Savage, Oliver Stude, Clark Stude, Sophia Stude, and Carl Pless. He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel Pless and Jean Martyn Pless, his in-laws Eston and Mary Ellis, brother Daniel Pless, and nephew Andrew Ellis. 

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 22, 2024 6 p.m. at the. Dunedin Causeway (West of kayak rentals). Internment and Military rites to be scheduled at a later date.
