James Russell Johnston

Obituary James Russell Johnston was born December 26, 1946 to Russell and Mary Marie Johnston in Brookville, Pennsylvania. His early years were spent in Strattanville, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Washington, D.C. Jim married Linda Sauter. He served in the Army in Korea and Viet Nam. After discharge, he was hired by the Potomac Telephone and Telegraph Company, and started his career as a cable splicer†™s apprentice. He and Linda moved to Colorado in 1973 when Jim transferred to Mountain Bell. Over the years, he moved to the inside-plant portion of the company, and retired in 1997 as a process analyst for Network Operations. Jim married Ellen Cambier on March 27, 1982. They were married for 31 years. He is survived by his wife Ellen, mother-in-law Dorothy Cambier, brother Dave (Linda) Cambier, and brother Bill Johnston. He is also survived by nephews Adam, Alex and Jared Cambier.
