James Franklin Stanbrough
January 21st, 1921 - December 1st, 2013
James F. Stanbrough was born January 21, 1921 in Peabody, KS and went peacefully from our arms into those of his heavenly father on December 1, 2013 at the age of 92. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Myrtle Stanbrough. He will be greatly missed by his sister Eleanor Williams (Roy) and his only daughter, Connie Gulden (Wally). Also by his granddaughter, Kandee Evans (Eric) and his 4 great grandchildren, Kirsten and Katie Golgart and Kameron and Konner Evans and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Willa Stanbrough and sister Betty Patchett. Also, by his beloved granddaughters; Kelley Kristine Kipers and Katherine Koleen Golgart. Jim grew up on his family farm in Peabody, KS. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1962 with a Bachelor†™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Boeing for several years during WWII. He was very proud of his engineering work on the CT-17, B47, B29, B52 and C135. After the war he changed his career path to become a business owner of a Gambles Hardware Store in Longmont and Julesburg, CO. He went back to work for Boeing in 1984. When he went back to Boeing he had the opportunity to work on Air Force One and finally retired at the age of 80. He did, however continue to wait for a call back from Boeing. He was a lifetime Patriot who was passionate about preserving our Constitution and fought hard for the future of his beloved country. He loved to camp and explore the Jeep trails of Colorado. He was always very passionate about photography and took many wonderful pictures during his lifetime. Wherever he went he took his Christian faith with him. He did his best to instill these values in his family and lived his life in a manner that would be pleasing to the Lord. Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Arvada Baptist Church (8350 W Pomona Dr. Arvada, CO 80005) Viewing will begin at 10am followed by a service at 11am. A light lunch will be served after the service. After lunch those wishing to proceed to Crown Hill cemetery are welcome to join the family for a short graveside burial. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a contribution in his honor can be made to Arvada Baptist Church. 8350 Pomona Dr. Arvada, CO 80005
