Jeffrey Scott Barr

Jeffrey Scott Barr, 45 Jeff Barr of Arvada, Colorado passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. Jeff was a loving father, son and friend to all. Jeff was born March 28, 1968 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Michael and Roberta Barr. He graduated from Centaurus High School in Lafayette, CO in 1986 where he held the Colorado High School track state record for the Mile Run for many years. Jeff received his Post Certification from Trinidad State Junior College Law Enforcement Academy in 2001. He served the Jefferson County School District for over 9 years beginning at Van Arsdale Elementary School. Being a Campus Supervisor at Ralston Valley High School for the last seven years was his most rewarding. He was a leader and mentor to the students and built strong friendships with the staff members. Jeff provided a positive influence at a personal level to many students, several of whom have credited him as their reason for finishing high school and continuing their education. Prior to working with the school district he was employed by Town and Country Disposal in Erie, CO. He enjoyed spending time with his children, classic cars, playing basketball, and being an avid Broncos and Packers fan. Jeff is survived by his daughters Emilia and Moira Barr, step-son Jesse Geck and their mother Melanie Barr of Arvada, CO, mother Roberta (Fink) Barr of Louisville, CO, father Michael Barr of Arvada, CO, sister Janet, (Barr) Moreth and her husband John Moreth of Washington, DC brother David Barr and his wife Amy (Norton) Barr of Charlotte, NC, girlfriend Marie Solano of Broomfield, CO, two nieces, three nephews and extended family. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 14 at Faith Bible Chapel, West Campus Family Worship Center and Atrium, 6250 Wright Street, Arvada, CO 80004. Pastor John Malito will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to benefit his daughters will be gratefully accepted.
