Zita "Hermes" Marie McGibbon

Died April 11, 2017 at age 101 Long time resident of Mahtomedi Born March 8, 1916 in St Paul, the eldest child of Louis J Hermes & Louise F Schneider. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Neal "Red" McGibbon; brother Louis J Hermes Jr; sisters Rhoda Louise Behr & Mary Ann McDonald; & oldest son Patrick & his wife Mary. Survived by sons Tim (Dawn), Denis (Kathy), Mick, Paul (Therese), & Jerry (Jodie); 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; & sister Clare Eldredge (Bill). For almost 20 years Zita worked as a letter sorter for the St Paul Post Office, retiring in 1984. Since the early 1950's she was an active member of St Jude of the Lake Catholic Church in Mahtomedi. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (4/19) 11:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST AGNES, 535 Thomas Ave, St. Paul. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave, North St Paul, & one hour prior to Mass at church. We wish to thank the staff at Gracewood Senior Living & St. Croix Hospice whose loving care & friendship has meant so much. Zita was blessed to have them at her side.
