Mementos

Age 87 of North St Paul, MN was called to her heavenly home on November 8, 2020. She had a remarkably strong spirit packed into a five-foot two-inch frame. She was definitely the rudder that steered her family. Because of this strength, she was able to conquer cancer and persist in the face of many other health issues. “Determined” is a word that aptly describes her. Lois also modeled loyalty and commitment in her relationships. Married to Merle B. Eastman (92), formerly of Cass County MN, they reached their 65th wedding anniversary side by side on November 4, 2020. They met at Hazel Park Alliance Church, in St. Paul, MN. Three months later, they were married at that same church and were members there for most of their married life. Lois was faithful to God and family. She and Merle read the Bible through together many times. She was a faithful church member throughout her life. In later years, that led her and Merle to become members of First Free Evangelical Church of Maplewood, MN. Lois was industrious. She had many jobs outside the home including: school lunch cook, preschool teacher, and purchasing secretary for a vocational college. She did all this while caring for her family, home and, for a period of time, her aging parents. She had a great capacity to show her love to others though acts of service. Clearly, Lois's absence will be deeply felt by those left behind: her loving husband, Merle Eastman; children, Joan (Mark) Gow of Colorado Springs, CO, Mark Eastman of Maplewood, MN, Darla (Neal) Malcore of Verndale, MN; grandchildren Brett Malcore of Maplewood, MN, Michelle (Elijah) Pratt of Shoreview, MN; brother, Lowell (Gail) Bishop of Maplewood, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly greeted in her eternal home by her Heavenly Father and her Lord Jesus Christ, as well as: her earthly parents, Julian O. and Ethel C. Bishop; sister, Eileen (Jim) Reem; brother, Edris Bishop; and many in-laws and friends who have gone before her. Lois, you will be missed. Memorial Service Monday, December 7, 2020 at First Ev. Free Church, 2696 Hazelwood St., Maplewood 11:00 AM with Visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Private Family Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research in memory of Lois. Make a Memorial Donation
