Lindgren, David Alden, age 85 from Motley, MN, died peacefully, while surrounded by family, on March 15, 2024 in Brainerd, MN. David was born on November 23, 1938 in Chisholm, MN. After graduating from Chisholm High School he went on to serve in the Armed Forces. He then went on to graduate from St. Cloud University and eventually ended up in North St. Paul as a high school teacher. It is here, he retired from teaching at North St. Paul High School in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Geri; his daughter Candace (John) Yunker; his son Erik (Stacy); his stepdaughter Kris (Steve) Santi; his stepson Steve (Melissa) Kappes; his brother Richard; and his pride and joy, his 4 grandkids, Jessica, Katelyn, Chance and Eddie along with several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Bondalyn and Alden Lindgren; his sister Phyllis; and his first wife Janet Lindgren. David had a passion for life and was given the gift of bringing laughter to others with his quick wit and sense of humor and his ability to make others so comfortable with an ease of conversation. He was a skilled bowler, having bowled a perfect game. As a golfer, he had 5 holes-in-one. And, as a fisherman, he had many tall tales. With all his life experiences David had acquired many friends from all over. Most importantly he was a wonderful family man. "Grief is the last act of love we give to our loved ones. Where there is deep grief there is great love" David was very loved. He will be missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Celebration of life will be held on June 22, 2024 at Sandberg Funeral Home in North St. Paul, MN
