Mary Marjorie Hennemann, known to most people as Marge or Midge, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at the age of 96 years old, surrounded by family. She grew up in North St. Paul and frequently talked about her great-grandpa walking her to and from school and how that was one of her favorite memories. When she was a little older, Marge and her siblings would head to Montana to work at Glacier Park for the summer. These were some of her fondest memories. She talked about going horseback riding in the mountains and working around the park. Years later, she took her children and grandchildren there and showed them the beautiful place she had always talked about. Marge was a teacher for many years and that continued long after she stopped teaching. She was always reading books and looking at maps to plan her next adventure. Along the way, she would try and teach anyone around her the information she had learned. She taught herself German and was forever carrying around her German dictionary just in case there was a word she couldn’t figure out, which helped her on her many trips to Germany. Marge married Thomas (Tom) Hennemann on September 27th, 1952. Tom was in the Marine Corps, and would have to pick up and move every time he was transferred to another base. Tom and Marge had 3 children Carl, Cecilia, and Tom Jr. They ended up settling in White Bear Lake, MN, after Tom had retired from the Marine Corps and later moved to Rush City, MN, where they would stay for over 20 years. Tom and Marge became very active in the community politically and Marge also spent a lot of time with her Red Hatters. Marge is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Jansen and Ebba (Tierney) Jansen, husband Thomas Hennemann Sr., son Carl Hennemann, brother Joe Jansen, and Sister Sally Simpson. She is survived by her daughter Cecilia Erdmann, son Tom Hennemann Jr. (Barb), and daughter-in-law Kitty Hennemann. Grandchildren Mary Erdmann (Michael), Katie Zastrow (Nick), Michelle Padden (Sean), Curtis Hennemann, and Marissa Grams (Michael). Great grandchildren Harper, Phoebe, Adelyn, Theodore, and Archer. Brothers Tom Jansen and Mike Jansen, as well as many other friends and family. Special thanks to the caregivers at Ecumen Lakeview Commons and Hospice of the Midwest for taking care of Marge. **A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
