Thomas Richard Christensen

Thomas Richard Christensen Passed suddenly and unexpectedly on May 20, 2024. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda M. Christensen and parents Elmer and Vicki Christensen Survived by: Daughter Sara Norland (Scott,) Son Brian Christensen (Kris,) Daughter Amy Norby (Chance,) Daughter Holly Christensen Nelson, and Grandchildren: Jacob Christensen, Bailey Norby, Evan Christensen, Maura Nelson, Eleanor Nelson and Casey Christensen. Tom was born in LeMars, Iowa on February 9th, 1946, and raised in Granville, Iowa. He married the love of his life, Linda (Brady) in 1968. They moved to Minneapolis in 1969. Tom served in the US Army as a Specialist 4 Hercules Missile Crewmen where he earned the honors of Expert Rifleman, Expert Carbine, and Missileman. He then pursued a career as a Pipefitter. He proudly worked his entire career as a member of Local 455. Tom loved family and was an extremely proud man. He loved traveling with Linda whether on a short car ride or on their favorite road trips to the mountains of Colorado and Cambria on the Pacific Coast where they enjoyed picnics and card games while taking in the ocean. At home, he created a little slice of heaven for them in his own backyard, fondly named Christensen Creekside Cottage. Tom loved all things transportation: a fascination with the Durango steam train as well as attending countless Sprint Car and Drag Races. He had a passion for tending to his yard, brightening up his home with a plethora of flowers, taking walks by the river, and putting puzzles together. Tom had an incredible talent to fix, tinker, and build almost anything. He had the strongest hands and forearms from his years of hard work.
