Willwerscheid Funeral Home & Cremation Service - West-Heights
Wanda Lee Zellman
February 26th, 1930 - December 28th, 2023
Wanda Zellman of West St. Paul passed away peacefully at age 93. She was preceded in death by loving husband Richard, parents Molly and Steve Glomski and sisters Betty and Dory. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by son Lane Zellman (Sue) and daughters Susan Sondreaal (Mitch), Mary Doty (Greg) and Kathy Boettcher (Kenny). Also survived by grandsons Patrick Doty (Maddie), Evan Boettcher (Cecelia) and Nick Doty (Sondra) and three great-grandsons Ronan Boettcher, Alvin Doty and Bernard Doty. Wanda grew up in St. Paul, the youngest of three girls. She graduated from Humbolt High School in 1948. Before and after graduation, she helped out at her family’s restaurants: Molly’s Eat Shop, a popular 50’s diner and The White Elephant where she met Richard, her future husband. They were married in 1952. Wanda was a homemaker extraordinaire and an accomplished baker, producing legendary cinnamon rolls, incredible pies and wonderful cookies and later in her life worked at Gruss Bakery in W. St. Paul. She was well-traveled, venturing to Europe and cruising the Caribbean on a Windjammer with Richard. She was exceedingly generous, treating her family to numerous vacations, including cruises to Alaska and Hawaii as well as a trip to St. Maarten. Wanda was gregarious, and would strike up a conversation with virtually anyone. Later in life, when her memory began to fail her, she always kept her sense of humor, once saying, “When you tell me something, you might as well say it to the wall.” In addition to spending time with her family, Wanda enjoyed card games, ice cream, game shows, monster movies, her two finches, Elvis and Frankie and an occasional Old Fashioned. She was much loved by her family and will be missed. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm followed by a memorial service at 3 pm on Sunday, January 7th, at the Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 235 Wentworth Ave W, West St Paul, MN. A private family burial will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery on a date to be determined.

Willwerscheid Funeral Home & Cremation Service - West-Heights
Since 1886, the Willwerscheid family has helped Saint Paul families navigate grief and plan funerals, cremation services, and life celebration services. Our business was started by John Adam Willwerscheid, a second generation American and father of eight over 100 years ago. While a lot has changed since then, our commitment to caring for families hasn't. We know that finding the right funeral home is important, and we are grateful that families continue to trust us to take care of their loved ones....
