Fannie Mae Webb
March 3rd, 1928 - October 9th, 2017
Fannie Mae Webb of Cottage Grove went to be with the Lord on Monday October 9, 2017. Born in 1928 in Battle, Mississippi Fannie was the seventh child (of 13 children) of a prominent southern pastor, Superintendent Nathaniel Battle. Her mother Missionary Bessie Battle, was her first example of what was expected of a true woman of God. The example of her parents was her foundation and exemplified what it means to live holy. As a child Fannie was required to learn church work. Her powerful testimonies were inspired by these humble beginnings where miracles were in abundance. Mrs. Webb became a restaurant proprietor at “Fannie’s Kitchen”, a successful soul food establishment in St. Paul in the 1970’s. It was here that her prayer life began to touch the community. Delicious food served with love and prayer is what she became known for. In the 1980’s Mother Webb, as she was fondly known, taught food and nutrition for the University of Minnesota Extension Services. She also contributed for many years to the Science Museum of Minnesota in a cultural exhibit about foods. Her life was spent working for the Lord and promoting the gospel to the masses. Mother Webb was integral in the founding of Free at Last Church of God in Christ a family church where her son Joseph became a pastor in the 1980’s. It was here that she became well known for her wonderful teachings about salvation. For many years she labored and worked along side her family, telling her testimonies and winning souls for the Lord. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 62 years Joseph Webb Jr. She is survived by four of her siblings, Thelma Buckner, Bernie Battle (Bessie), Louella Pittman, Robert Battle (Wilma); eight children, Shirley McCorvey (James), Sandra Edwards, Phillip Webb (Annie), Walter Webb, Joseph Webb (Andrea), Celester Webb (Felecia), Shaval Crooms (Randy), Kelly Webb (Deborah); also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 19th at the Redeeming Love Church, 2425 White Bear Avenue N., Maplewood, MN 55109. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Friday October 20th at 12:15pm. (Meet at assembly area #6) .

Spielman Mortuary
Spielman Mortuary has been helping Saint Paul families since 1950 when Kenneth and Helen Spielman purchased the National Funeral Home. For over 30 years, the couple lived above the funeral home and took just one vacation. They sold the home in 1984 to the Willwerscheid family. We still operate Spielman Mortuary with the same traditions of pride, sensitivity, value, and attention to detail that the Spielmans followed for over three decades....
