John Henry Herkamp died peacefully at the age of 74 on July 8, 2017. John was born on January 13, 1943 in Oregon City to Henry and Dorothea (Merz) Herkamp. John grew up in Macksburg, Oregon and attended Canby High School. On September 23, 1967 John married Pearl Russell of Wilsonville. In 1964, John began his fifty year career in the plywood mill industry and spent the majority of his career working at Panel Equipment Sales. John enjoyed spending time in his shop where he could make, build or fix just about anything. A man of many hobbies, John spent countless hours hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed golf, attending youth sporting events in support of his grandkids, woodworking, coaching softball, watching Mariner games, and sharing his knowledge and experiences with younger generations. John is survived by his wife, Pearl; daughters, Lisa Stobie (Bill) and Jill Apostolos; grandchildren, Tyler Howerton, Shelby Taylor, Hannah Stobie and Ryan Stobie. John will be remembered as a loyal man with strong faith and values. A celebration of life will be on Sunday, July 23, 2pm at the Al Kader Shrine Center in Wilsonville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to Al Kader Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund, 25100 SW Parkway Avenue, Wilsonville, OR 97070. A Celebration of Life will be held on
