Harold C. Tice
September 18th, 1923 - January 4th, 2016
Harold C. Tice, 92, died January, 4th 2016 at the Legacy House Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, FL. Born in North Ilion NY on Sept. 18, 1923, son of Lester and Florence Kahler Tice, he was employed as an attendant at the Utica State Hospital later known as Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. Mr. Tice resided in the Utica and Amsterdam areas before he and his wife relocated to Florida. During World War II, Mr. Tice proudly served with the US Army as a corporal. He was a D- Day survivor of the Omaha Beach invasion. Mr. Tice was a Life member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars he served as the Commander of Whitestown, NY Post #1113; Chef de Gare, 1974/75 of the Whitesboro Voiture # 92 40 et 8. He was a Eucharistic Minister at the former St. Casimir's Church. Mr. Tice was also Life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Msgr. Wm. A. Browne Assembly Color Corps. Mr. Tice was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene Lapp Tice. He is survived by 2 children, David (Carmel) Connor of Ocala, FL and Diane Taylor of Dunwoody, GA along with grandchildren Amanda (Jon) Miller, Erin (Neil) Ecton, Maria Staffeldt, Paul (Robin) Silvestri; and several great grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. A calling hour will precede the Mass beginning at 10a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at the church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery. The family requests no flowers and any remembrances be made in his name to The Legacy House Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860 (http://www.hospiceofmarion.com/donations). .
