Robert V. LaDue, 94, of Glenville passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born August 30, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Vernon H. and Mabel Nolan LaDue. Robert lived in Amsterdam for most of his life and graduated from Amsterdam High school. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Saturn as a Machinist's Mate 3rd Class during WWII. After serving his country in the Navy, Robert worked as a welder for many years for General Electric. Robert had a huge passion for golfing, and continued to golf until he was in his 80's. Survivors include his loving family; his wife, Jennie Pichizola LaDue; step-children, Elaine Wormuth, Gail Robinson, Ronald Robinson and his wife Patricia, and Alan Robinson and his wife Rita; step-grandchildren, Daniel, Ellen, Roni Lynn, Amy, Amanda, Courtney, Todd, Marc, Alan, Melanie, Jeremy, Chad, Joel, Megan, Sara, Andy and Ryan; and 12 great grandchildren. Two nieces and three nephews also survive. Robert was predeceased by his sister, Eunice Kenyon and brother, Raymond LaDue. A memorial service for Robert will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 12 o'clock noon at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. The family will receive family and friends from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to Hospice Inn @ St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
