Mr. Nicholas C. Marchi, 78, of Horning Drive, Ft. Plain, NY, passed away Thursday December 3, 2015 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY. Born in Yorktown, Yonkers, NY on September 6, 1937 a son of the late Remo and Nicholina Gaspiri Marchi. He was an All American Football Player in High School. Mr. Marchi was a self-employed construction contractor working in the Yonkers NY area. He came to the Ft. Plain area in 1998. He leaves behind his companion of over 20 years, Margaret Williamson of Ft. Plain, NY. He also leaves behind Damien Williamson of Ft. Plain, NY. One son and one daughter. A step-son, Dean Bianchini. Two brothers, Louis Marchi and Randy Marchi of Pennsylvania. Three sisters, Beatrice Guiaffrida of Yonkers, NY, Gloria Verrichio of Garrison, NY and Josephine Barone of Arizona. Granchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY 13317. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
