Rose Marie Gaudreau

Rose Marie Gaudreau, 80, of Gloversville passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam on October 5, 2015. She was born August 12, 1935 in Auburn, New York, daughter of the late Sylvester and Teresa Marie Albano De Bois. She was raised in Auburn, NY, and attended Port Byron High School. Following high school, she worked at a leather mill where she met her first husband, Peter J. Guter. Together they moved to the Gloversville area and raised a family. Rose Marie was a Nurses' Aide at the Fulton County Infirmary for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Angelical Episcopal Church of Gloversville. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and arts and crafts. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, and she always prepared meatballs, which were so delicious that everyone will truly miss them.. Rose will be missed greatly for her kind heart, generous spirit, and loving ways. She is survived by two daughters Petricia Schreppel (Robert) of Gloversville and Michelle M. Herrick (Daniel) of Canajoharie; siblings Ann Kudla (Don) of Auburn, NY, Frank DeBois (Lolly) of Dover, NH, Jean O'Hara of Auburn, NY, Anthony DeBois of VA and Carla Lapointe (Kris) of Skaneateles, NY. Her beloved grandchildren are LeeAnn Butler(Mike), Jessica Schreppel (Gregory Swart), Elizabeth Schreppel (Matthew Werenczak)and Richelle Edwards (Brandon Insognia), great grandchildren, Nicholas and Dillan Butler, Julian and Emma-Lynn Briskie. She is predeceased by her former husband, Peter Guter and her second husband, Adrian Gaudreau. She is also predeceased by a brother, John DeBois. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, New York 12078 from 11am until 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fulton Center Activities Department, 847 County Highway 122, Gloversville, New York 12078. Burial will take place the next day at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
