Pauline J. Sainato
March 29th, 1928 - June 17th, 2015
Mrs. Pauline J. Sainato, 87, of Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born on March 29, 1928, she was a lifelong area resident. In 1946 she graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She worked as the secretary for Joel Kaplan and Montco for many years. Pauline also worked for Carl Company and General Electric. On April 11, 1948 she was united in marriage to Anthony J. "Tony" Sainato Jr. That union lasted 63 years, until his passing on January 23, 2011. She was also predeceased by her son, David Sainato; and her siblings, Miles, John, Lillian and Lorraine. Mrs. Sainato was a member of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and currently a parishioner Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pauline also loved to knit, garden and shop. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her Survivors include one son Edward (Christine) Sainato of Amsterdam; three daughters Sharon (Michael) Ashton of Granite Falls, Washington, Mary (Robert) Minkler of Perth, Carol (Richard) Insogna of Amsterdam; one sister, Marilyn Thompson of Ballston Spa; 11 grandchildren, Kari Ashton, Kelly (Chris) Lykken, Brandt (Stacia) Minkler, Kristen (Grady) Tyree, Renee (Michael) Purcell, Karen Lemanski, Kimberly (Adam) Humphrey and Brian Lemanski (fiancé Beth Kiffney), Anthony "A.J." Sainato and Amber (Michael) Fusco; 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:15a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Saturday morning prior to the Mass beginning at 8:30a.m until 10:30a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New York, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
