Amelia "Molly" J. Natale
July 8th, 1917 - March 13th, 2015
Amelia J. "Molly" Natale, 97, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2015 at the Edward L. Wlikinson RHCF. Born July 8, 1917 in Herkimer, New York she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Pasqualina Fillipello DeSorbo. She has lived most of her life in Amsterdam and she was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Molly was employed as a dress maker for the former Hanover Dress Shop in Amsterdam for a number of years. She was a member of the Columbian Social Club Auxiliary and Hi- Lo Seniors in Amsterdam and she was an avid New York Yankees fan. She was a parishioner of the former St. Michael's the Arch Angel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Over the years Molly enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with her family. On November 22, 1942 she married Lawrence J. Natale who passed away in 1990. Survivors include a son, Joseph L. (Kathleen) Natale of Guilderland, NY; a daughter, Donna M. Picciocca of Amsterdam; four grandchildren, Stephen Picciocca of Amsterdam, Tami Rhatigan of Latham, Larry Natale of East Greenbush and Marci Goldstein of Loudonville; nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Louis and Alfred DeSorbo and two sisters, Mary Emmanuele and Elvera DiCaprio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:15 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, St. John Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Molly's memory to the Edward L Wilkinson RHCF Activities Fund, 4988 State Highway 30, Amsterdam, NY 120-10.
