Obituary BRB FFH Amsterdam, NY Rose Reali Shang, 86 passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter after a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on May 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Phillip and Lucy Pompi Reali, she lived here her entire life and was educated in Amsterdam schools. Rose worked for Ward Products and was a home health care provider for many years. She retired from the Head Start Program on Truax Road. In her younger years, she bowled and played bocce on the Southside teams and was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader. Rose was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. She truly loved life , playing cards with her family, enjoying the Italian program on WCSS and following her favorite music duo, Dom Megna and Peter Jorasen. She was a member of the "Girls Card Group" and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Please remember the laughter and love that she shared with all of you! Rose leaves her son Peter Patrenicola of Malone NY, daughters Gloria (John) Mancini, Carol Musillo Carrero and Jean Patrenicola all of Amsterdam; grandchildren, Luis (Jamie), Ricardo (Jen) and Elizabeth Rose Carrero, Peter Patrenicola, Christina Carrero, Dominick (Nicole) and Carlos "Tudy" (Catherine) Carrero and Deanna Brinkerhoff; great grandchildren; Kayleigh Rose, Jaciano Robert, Kaimien. Kainen ,Sophia Rose, Max, Ella and Nya ; sister Carol Wojcik of Schenectady, brother Rudolph (Shirley) Reali of Rome, NY and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson Robert (Bunzie) Rodriguez, brothers Frank and John Reali and nephews Thomas and Michael Reali. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church 156 East Main Street Amsterdam by Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti. The family will gather at the Chapel of St. Mary's Church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass to greet family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Rose's wish was that memorials may be made to her family. They have entrusted her care to the staff at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
