Mr. Howard W. Young, Sr; age 69, of Gloversville, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born May 15, 1945 in Gloversville, the son of the late Howard and Arlene Dingman Young. He served in the US Army was later employed as a truck driver by Palette Stone Corp. of Saratoga Springs. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities, including automobiles. Howard is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Eaton Young of Gloversville; three children: Gary Young (Rachel) of Gloversville, Joseph Young (Karen) of Perth and Kristie Young of Gloversville; four brothers and four sisters: Steven Young, Cora Moore (Tom), Frank Young (Rose), Gene Young (Sharon), Raymond Young (Kelly), Roseanne Baumes (Martin), Nancy Bates (Gary) and Mary Lee Hillman (Darryl). Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Nicole, Nathan, Anthony, Ashley and Gino Young; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Howard W. Young, Jr. and a sister, Sharon Van Husen. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, January 26th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Bleecker Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Ave; Rochester, NY 14620 or to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd; Albany, NY 12205
