Joan Donnelly Crane

Joan Donnelly Crane, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Healthcare. She had been a resident of the E.L. Wilkinson RHCF. Born in Clinton, Mass. On December 1, 1932, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Manning Donnelly. On April 14, 1956 she was united in marriage to David O. Crane who predeceased her on July 27, 1995. Joan was a member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church and a member of the ECW of the church. Joan is survived by her children James B. Crane II (Jane Crane) of Orlando Florida; Sarah M. Rapp (Michael Rapp) of Granville Ohio; Peter David Crane (James Martin) of Schenectady; grandchildren Andrew Crane of Manhattan Beach, CA; Gregory Crane of Loudonville, NY; Stephanie Crane of Vail, CO; Kate Crane of Orlando FL; Luke Crane of Orlando FL; Kelsey Earls of Naples FL; and Daniel Rapp of Austin TX. Joan was a graduate of Green Mountain College in Poultney VT. She served as an active member and officer for the Children's Aid Association of Amsterdam for many years. She also served as the Vice President of the Resident Council at the Wilkinson Residential Care. A Service to celebrate her life will take place Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Episcopal Church 37 Division Street Amsterdam. The Rev. Neal Longe, rector, will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church from 10 am Saturday until the time of the service. Memorials may be made in her name to E.L. Wilkinson Residential Care Facility. Joan was a dedicated mother. She had an infectious laugh and made those around her smile. Sadly, she will be missed by many who enjoyed her love of life.
