Elizabeth S. Bennett
April 14th, 1926 - October 5th, 2014
Elizabeth S. Bennett, 88, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening October 5, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born April 14, 1926 in Gloversville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Eugenia Dotha Stewart Loveland. Elizabeth was a 1944 graduate of Gloversville High School. She worked for over 10 years as a Payroll Clerk at Fownes Gloves, Inc. in Gloversville. Elizabeth was very active in her community as a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Gloversville, member of the Nathan Littauer Auxiliary, member of the Concordia Club and a member of Nick's Stoner Snowmobile Club. Survivors include her son John W. Bennett (Susan) of Gloversville; brother Lynn Loveland (Shirley) of Norwich, CT; grandchildren Gordon and MacKenzie Bennett and close friend Jeremiah Smith of Gloversville. Elizabeth is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Claude A. Bennett whom she married March 21, 1953; son Claude L. Bennett; brother John Wilson and sister Eugenia D. Brown. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 1 P.M. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville with Rev. Will Sharp officiating. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place on Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 4-6 P.M. Burial will take place at Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the First Free Methodist Church 1200 County Highway 122, Gloversville, NY 12078 Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
