Loretta F. Furman

Mrs. Loretta F. Furman , 90 , of Amsterdam , passed away Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Capstone Center for Rehab & Nursing in the town of Amsterdam. Born on August 17, 1927 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Ensle Meyers. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended Amsterdam schools. Loretta was employed as a sewing machine operator for the former Mohawk Dress Shop in Amsterdam. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Andrus, one brother, James Meyers and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband William W. Furman whom she married on May 17, 1947. She is also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Edward, William and Joseph Meyers, Emma Long, Mildred Borst and Florence Pecelonis. A Funeral service will be held on Monday November 27, 2017 at 10:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Father Jeffrey M. L'Arche will offer prayers between 9:00 and 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment of cremated remains will be in Fairview Cemetery Amsterdam. Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
