Rod was a proud father and survived by two children, Brian Boyce of Aurora, Colorado and Kristy Murphy of Wright, Wyoming. Other survivors include his brother, Ron Boyce, Dodge City, Kansas; nieces Jennifer and Stephanie Boyce, New Orleans, Louisiana; nephew Myles Boyce, Dodge City, Kansas, son in law Jeremy Murphy and grandsons Derringer and Kanin Murphy, Wright, Wyoming; son in law, Mike Ewing, Aurora, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Rosie Boyce. Rod was very involved in the Kanorado community as a volunteer fireman, reserved deputy, and manager of the Kanorado Co-op service station for over 20 years. He was the pitcher of Mr. Nasty†™s fast pitch softball league and coached and instructed girls†™ fast pitch softball. Rod was awarded the Elk†™s Citizen of the Year Award in Goodland, Kansas for his heroic actions. Rod†™s hobbies included cars, racing, fishing, and all sporting activities. His favorite memories were spending times with his children and family. Rod†™s ashes will be spread in the Rocky Mountains in a private ceremony at a later date.
