Miriam R. McConnell

Mrs. Miriam Roehm McConnell, born November 7,1922, died January 31, 2014 at Lutheran Haven in Oviedo Florida. Beloved friend, wife and mother. Met and married her best friend, a WWII veteran E. John (Jack) McConnell who died in September 2009. They were married for 62 years. She was a devout Christian who was the youngest of eight children born to a Lutheran minister and his wife. She graduated from Boston University and worked as an art teacher and substitute teacher for many years. She is survived by her children; son John McConnell of Boston and twin daughters; Marcia McConnell Hardell (husband Jeff) of Connecticut and Miriam McConnell Boots (husband Craig) of Louisiana. Also survived by five grandchildren; Ian McConnell, Cheney McConnell Harper, Jim, Jay, Jared Hardell and Great-grandaughters, Lyra and Willow Harper. A memorial service was held at Lutheran Haven, Oviedo, FL shortly after she died. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2021 West State Road 426, Oviedo, Florida, 32765.
